Like every weekend, we meet at kwgeek as I pick 5 free or paid mobile apps and games that caught my eye on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Every week I try to bring you the best apps that aren’t personal data traps or microtransaction dens. For my own discoveries, I’ve also added applications that the kwgeek community unearthed and shared on our forums, which I invite you to check out.
From mobile games to productivity apps, here are 5 free and paid Android/iOS apps from kwgeek this week. We post this pick every week, and you can also check out my 5 apps from last week.

Madhur AI: Text to Speech TTS (Android)
We start with an Android accessibility application that allows text to be read through speech synthesis in multiple languages. You can scan or import text in print, PDF or e-book or other versions and transcribe it easily with OCR (Optical Character Recognition).
You can then choose from 127 female and male voices in 27 different languages (the app cannot translate your text). You can also choose the speed of the voice-over. The app is free and contains no ads, but you are limited to 400 scanned words. To benefit from unlimited quantities, pay €2.99 per month, €20.99 per year or agree to a single purchase of €29.99.
- Price: Free / Ads: No / In-App Purchases: Yes (€2.99 to €29.99) / Account: Not Required / French: No

Sofa: Downtime Manager (iOS)
This iOS productivity app is designed to optimize your productivity, not when you’re relaxing. Yes, games or reading lessons spent on your couch or bed, it’s organized.
Ahh not knowing what game to play this weekend, huh? We have questions, speak up. Rest assured, with the sofa, you can schedule moments of relaxation by listing, prioritizing, and programming the books you want to read, the movies you want to watch, or the video games you want to play.
The paid version also allows you to customize lists (cover image, description, etc.), create notes for certain elements, get more precise statistics on your activity, list news feeds for all elements, and more. But for a 1 person subscription at 3.99€ per month or 35.99€ per year, I think it’s too expensive.
- Price: Free / Ads: No / In-App Purchases: Yes (€3.99 to €35.99) / Account: Not Required / French: No

Backtracking (Android)
This Android app claims to be able to “count” your nostalgic music period and provide you with several cult tunes meant to remind you of the good old days.
Specifically, the app only considers periods between 10 and 20 years based on your birth year. The idea is that we’re more likely to miss songs we released in our teens or twenties.
Unfortunately, the app doesn’t provide me with those 2000s national anthems Hey ho! Tragedy, Façon Sex by King of the Horde and Femme Like U by K.Maro.
- Price: Free / Ads: No / In-App Purchases: No / Account: Not Required / French: No

Coffee Ratio (Android)
Everything, really everything can be a niche for its purist community. Everyone has their own, who am I to judge? Coffee Ratio is for espresso lovers and other elite baristas who want the perfect brew.
Even if you mix two different types of coffee beans, the app will calculate the amount of coffee based on the total brew volume (oz, ml). It also provides an easily accessible stopwatch at the top of the screen. If you’re in a hurry and don’t have access to a scale, you can estimate how much coffee you’ll need.
The app is paid, has no ads or in-app purchases, and its interface is very easy to understand. At the same time, because he has a Nespresso capsule machine, and you grind seeds by hand with a toucan imported directly from Colombia, with a cast iron grinder bequeathed by your great-grandfather, getting you excited is invaluable!
- Price: € 1.09 / Ads: No / In-App Purchases: No / Account: Not required / French: No

Love is… in the little things (Android & iOS)
As a single person, my greatest passion is watching other people be happy. It was really great and good for my morale too. Oh dear, how beautiful is love. But I don’t have time, I have an unlockable gold camo on my submachine gun in Call of Duty Mobile. In short, I have my own life.
But I would make exceptions in my very busy day-to-day life because love is…in the little things or “love is made of little things”. This is a cartoon and watercolor style puzzle game and visual puzzle. The story revolves around love, husband and wife, and emotional health. I find the game’s soundtrack very soothing.
You follow a series of drawings representing black and white pencil drawings that you have to “color”. To do this, you have to find a series of elements – numbers, shapes or symbols – scattered throughout the painting, more or less well hidden. Simply put, imagine “Where’s Charlie?”. Every time you find a hidden object, you bring parts of the board to life and advance the story.
The game offers 300 levels divided into 30 chapters, but the game contains ads that you can get rid of by purchasing the full version for 5.49 euros.
