Like every weekend, we meet at kwgeek as I pick 5 free or paid mobile apps and games that caught my eye on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This edition is dedicated to practical applications to better spend the summer.
Every week I try to bring you the best apps that aren’t personal data traps or microtransaction dens. For my own discoveries, I’ve also added applications that the kwgeek community unearthed and shared on our forums, which I invite you to check out.
From mobile games to productivity apps, here are 5 free and paid Android/iOS apps from kwgeek this week. We post this pick every week, and you can also check out my 5 apps from last week.
Yescapa – AirBnB for RV (Android & iOS)
What’s the best thing you can do in this weather? go on holiday! For this, I therefore recommend Yescapa, an AirBnB clone for caravans and motorhomes. So you can rent vehicles where you can sleep when they don’t need them themselves. There are individuals and rental professionals.
The app is clearly structured to target based on your location and displays costs calculated during your rental period. If you have an RV to rent yourself, you can also do this through the app. The service is available in France.

Cocktail Flow – Makes You Drink Enough (Android & iOS)
In hot weather, you have to drink a lot, we learned that at school! Since that doesn’t necessarily mean water, I’ve selected the most popular cocktail apps from the App Store for you. The cocktail stream includes more cocktails than the Berlin bachelorette party, and of course many soft drinks.
With the design update, the app is awesome and even lets you indicate the ingredients you have at home. The app then tells you which cocktails can be made with those ingredients. One final note, of course: If you go for an alcoholic cocktail, be extra careful about the heat. Stay accountable and let me know what your favorite cocktails are!

Be my Eyes – Helping Others Through the Summer (Android & iOS)
Personally, the heat of the last few days has not particularly bothered me. In fact, I’m relatively young, I don’t have any physical disabilities, and I have refreshment or shade anytime I want. Of course, this is not for everyone, you can use this app to help specific groups.
In fact, Be My Eyes is a network through which visually impaired people can get help in many situations. With just a few taps of your finger, blind people can ask you questions through your smartphone camera. The example cited is expired milk, whose use date you can read with your camera.
In hot weather, the numerous assistance options for the visually impaired in public spaces become an issue. After all, who wants to fumble around on metal surfaces in this weather, or find themselves suddenly lost in a square without shadows? With Be My Eyes, you can help a little with this.

Komoot – Purposeful Hiking (Android & iOS)
If you enjoy using your smartphone for outdoor activities, you probably already know Komoot. Personally, I’d love to use the Komoot route catalog through a browser, and then download the route as a PDF to my smartphone. However, the Komoot app, combined with a subscription, does offer a lot of benefits that can help you with your excursions.
But Komoot is first and foremost a hiking app, with a community for hiking trails, mountain bike trails, and other outdoor trails. In Berlin, I was able to discover exciting routes proposed by other Berliners, which freed me from curiosity that not everyone knew about.
The first trek is free, then you need to pay up to 19.99 euros for a world pass. But if you’ve ever looked for a travel guide in the supermarket, the cost will be higher. If you hike a lot, Komoot is one of the best hiking apps.

Stumble Guys (Android and iOS)
Finally, a mobile game: Stumble Guys is available for Android and iOS, and is a fairly direct clone of the very popular Fall Guys. You will have to run with many other players through parkour and only be able to jump, dash forward and change directions. The mechanics of the game are simple, but the whole concept is addicting.
On my second attempt, I managed to be the first player to pass any one of about 15 levels. Only 16 players then moved on to the next player, further reducing the number of players. The last remaining person has already won, and at the same time you have to overcome many traps. It’s fun and can be played without annoying ads. However, you can get designs and clothing via in-app purchases.
