Over the past few days, Amazon has begun cutting prices on its own products as part of a wider Mother’s Day sale. Yesterday, we saw the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 15 drop to all-time lows, and today it’s the turn of the retailer’s popular Kindle e-readers, which are now available for savings of up to 41%.
Leading the way is the Kindle Paperwhite, which normally sells for $140, but has dropped to an all-time low of $105 in this particular sale. The standard Kindle is also down to $55, just $5 off its all-time low.

The fifth-generation Paperwhite was updated for the first time in three years last September, with a larger screen than the previous model, at 6.8 inches (compared to its predecessor’s 6-inch display). Amazon says the 300 ppi screen looks like real paper, and its glare-free screen makes it “easy to read” in any condition, even in direct sunlight. Not only is it compact, but it also has a water-resistant design that ensures it will still function properly when splashed. USB-C fast charging is also supported.
If you are looking for something more High quality, Kindle Oasis is also available. Normally priced at $250, the 8GB model is currently on sale for $200. The e-reader was previously priced as low as $175, so it’s not close to an all-time low right now, but it’s still $50 off its normal price. The Oasis has a 300 ppi display, but the screen is slightly larger than the Paperwhite’s by 7 inches. It features physical page-turn buttons, IPX8 water resistance, and color-adjustable headlights.

This can also be a good time to encourage your child to love reading. Amazon is selling the Kindle Paperwhite Kids for $120, or $40 off the regular price. Standard Kindle Kids are also on sale today for $65, with a $45 (or 41%) discount. They all offer a two-year “Worry-Free Guarantee”, a protective case, and a 12-month Kids+ subscription with access to thousands of books.
