Annke announced a new 4K connected security camera in its PoE (Power over Ethernet) series. The Annke AC800 features an active deterrent system using a pair of 50 lumen floodlights and a 95 dB siren. It is also compatible with the Alexa assistant.
- If Ankke AC800 detects unwanted people or vehicles, it generates spotlights and sounds
- The price of the AC800 is around 200 euros
Like most smart cameras from manufacturers, the AC800 features 4K video recording at up to 25 frames per second. Additionally, connected cameras feature a brand new security alert feature with strobes and sirens to deter crime when it is detected. Annke said its AI image recognition system can prevent unwanted alarms by detecting animals or insects that might trigger an alarm.

In terms of picture quality, the AC800 features an improved and larger CMOS sensor that is 1.4 times larger than the previous C800 model. Plus, the lens is wider and brighter thanks to the f/1.6 aperture. This lens captures 25% more light than its predecessor’s f/2.0 lens.
The camera does not have a Wifi module, instead it relies on Ethernet and supports PoE technology. It can also be connected to DC power if a Power over Ethernet connection is not available. In addition to the built-in speakers, there is a built-in microphone that filters and cancels ambient noise while picking up sounds from up to 6 meters away.
Users can also control and access the AC800 camera through Amazon Alexa. Alternatively, the Annke vision app will provide unlimited remote access with email notification options.
The Annke AC800 in bullet or turret form costs €199.99. Fortunately, the camera is compatible with the company’s current 4K NVRs, so you don’t need to buy a separate NVR if you already have one.
