Aqara just showed off an updated version of its Hub M1s. The M1s Gen 2 Smart Hub brings significant improvements in WiFi security protocols and compatibility with future Matter standards.

Aqara’s new M1s Gen 2 hubs include the WP3 WiFi security standard, which provides faster and more secure data encryption than other hubs using the older WP2 standard. Ringtones and notification sounds can now be customized on this new smart hub.

Like the previous M1 hub, this updated smart hub can accommodate up to 128 Aqara-connected devices using the Zigbee protocol, such as the latest Motion P1 sensors, security cameras and switches for home automation. The light sensor is also retained, along with a built-in 2-watt speaker for the doorbell and alarm functions.

Aqara M1s Gen 2 Hub is compatible with Apple HomeKit. The management of the security system and the synchronization of alarms and alarms are integrated. Surprisingly, the company has removed compatibility with Mijia or Mijia while expanding support for IFTTT and the upcoming Matter standard. The hub also works with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings and other platforms for basic hub functionality and RGB lighting.

Aqara is available on Amazon in France. It has an introductory price of 55.99 euros, plus you can get a 10% coupon that brings the center’s price to 50.39 euros. The price of the first generation has been reduced to 44 euros.
