Asus enters SSD business
The Taiwanese company may soon be one of the first big brands to offer all PC components that bear its name.
Asus just released a teaser trailer for its upcoming NVMe SSD. The company hasn’t released an SSD before, which confirms that Asus will soon enter a new PC hardware market. A teaser posted on the ASUS ROG Taiwan social page shows the ROG STRIX SQ7 NVMe SSD drive. This particular model will offer 1TB of storage via the M.2 PCIe Gen4 interface.

The SSD adopts the M.2 2280 specification and supports the PCIe Gen 4×4 standard. Sadly, there’s no sign of a Gen5 SSD yet, but Asus may test the waters before entering the high-end SSD market.
The trailer is just 3 weeks away from the Computex 2022 trade show. ASUS just recently announced its “Boundless” event scheduled for May 17, where a new SSD may be announced.
ASUS has supplied almost all PC components except their own memory modules. However, this will give their fans the chance to build an all-ASUS system as soon as possible.
