Bowers & Wilkins updated their in-ear headphones with the introduction of the Px7 S2 (Series 2), three years after the first model. The second-gen headphones boast an updated premium design and improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) thanks to the addition of a microphone for the same price.
- Bowers & Wilkins officialize the Px7 S2
- New Px7 S2 (series 2) headphones feature improved ANC
- Bowers & Wilkins’ Px7 S2 for €429
- Px8 headphones are also expected to be available later this year
Surprisingly, Bowers & Wilkins reduced the size of the Px7 S2’s audio driver from 43mm to 40mm. However, the company claims it retunes the drivers on each earbud for better audio output. There is still high-resolution 24-bit audio, as well as various Bluetooth codecs such as AptX Adaptive/HD, AAC, and SBC.
The lack of LDAC support on the Px7 S2 may disappoint some audiophiles. But that’s understandable, since the aforementioned codecs are mostly found on Sony’s wireless headphones, like the WH-1000XM5. On the other hand, according to the latest rumors, Apple is rumored to release the AirPods Pro 2 with a better LC3 codec.

There are now six microphones in total, four of which are used for noise reduction and the rest are dedicated to calls. The Bowers & Wilkins mobile app supports transparency mode and custom equalizers. There are also physical buttons on the right earcup, while the left side has a customizable single button.
In terms of battery life, the Px7 S2 headphones boast the same 30 hours of playback time as the Px7. Fortunately, charging via the USB-C port has been improved, and a 15-minute charge can provide up to 7 hours of use.
