The site also includes a chronological list of events, starting with the digital prologue comics released a month before the game. Other dates are related to the release of Dragon’s Creed: Dark Rise on various platforms (PS4/Xbox One in 2013, Steam in 2016, Switch in 2019) to complete the Netflix animation from September 2020 series. However, there’s no mention of the free Dragon’s Creed Online, a Japan-exclusive game released on PS4, PS3, and PC, which closed in December 2019.
In 10 years, Capcom sold 6.2 million copies of Dragon’s Creed worldwide. If the publisher is already working on some major games, including Pragmata, Exoprimal, and Street Fighter 6, announcing Dragon’s Dogma 2 will undoubtedly have a particular impact, since Capcom has almost no presence in the action RPG genre. In making the choice, director Hideaki Itsuno also favored a project that was perhaps a little more straightforward, Devil May Cry 5, which was a success with 5 million copies. Now the dragon is waiting for its time.
