Thousands of mutated dinosaurs burst out of wormholes, and super-powered exoskeletons popped up in sparsely populated urban environments, all to a brutal and frantic soundtrack: exogenous Looks like an early 2000s Capcom game, kind of shooting The uninhibited might appear in the wee hours of the Dreamcast. There’s even a lost planet inside. The difference is that Capcom’s title will be played online only, with five-on-five teams, and in different game modes, it will be a matter of completing goals imposed by hilarious artificial intelligence to win.
The main game mode, titled “Dinosaur Survival,” thus requires two teams to compete to carry out the orders of the Leviathan, the evil artificial intelligence at the origin of the sudden appearance of the dinosaurs. In the heat of competition, teams are also looking for ways to escape the deadly game of Leviathan.
Among AI-imposed goals, the night’s demonstration evoked “vertical takeoff and landing defenses,” which included defending against downed aircraft, and “Omega Charge,” in which each member of the team was given a giant model hammer. Use it to crush hordes of enemies. If a confrontation between two rival squads is supposed to keep most games alive, they’ll sometimes need to team up to defeat titans like the new Tyrannosaurus seen in the trailer.
Capcom has also unveiled two new exoskeletons (Barrage and Vigilant) that will be allowed to test run, and the publisher apparently plans to market the new exoskeletons after their titles are released. The closed beta will take place in July, and no exact date has been announced yet. However, the commercial version of the game won’t launch until next year.
