“This is my return to the universe I knew in 2006”started by Christoph Gans. “The first film was a huge success and we decided to continue the story of a young man returning to Silent Hill, where he meets a great love, but where he will find a pure nightmare .”
The few seconds visible in the video are indeed directly reminiscent of the universe of the first film, with the camera falling from the surface into a hell of fire and metal.
Producer Victor Hadida continued: “Together, we convince Konami that there is a new version of Silent Hill to tell, and they participate wholeheartedly in it. At the heart of the film is the myth of Orpheus and the soul of a man who sneaks into hell to return to find a loved one.
The director continued: “This is a psychological horror film. Even though we can find all the creatures and horror sequences that audiences are familiar with, the real question is first: Are we crazy, are we healthy? Going back to Silent Hill to find a lovelorn?”
The video upholds Christopher Gans’ allegiance to the source material, while he himself reiterates his desire to preserve the spirit of the game perfectly, while adapting it as much as possible to the genre.
One of my main goals was how to recreate the Silent Hill monsters in different versions. I’m obviously talking about Pyramid Head, which is back in this sequel. Fans loved the original monster so much, but it was important to me to come back with some surprises. The guys at Konami also help me find new designs, which is why I love our collaboration so much because they’re developing the game at the same time.
Nothing new compared to the interview released a few days ago, but at least it’s confirmed that the movie is coming, it’s not yet known when.
