Destiny 2
Bunge
It turns out that when you write a 9,000-word blog post and it has to be translated into multiple languages, some things can be… missed. That’s what happened with Destiny 2 and last week’s TWAB, which unexpectedly revealed that a returning Destiny 1 exotic is coming in season 17.
In the section listing the “outliers” of Destiny 2 Season 17’s new airborne efficiency stats, [REDACTED] Exotic is listed, which means it’s coming. question? It’s not edited in Japanese, and players are quick to deduce that it’s actually The Trespasser, the exotic weapon that appeared in Rise of Steel in Destiny 1.
Destiny 2
Bunge
I barely remember Trespasser, as Rise of Steel wasn’t my most interactive time with Destiny, so here’s a recap of some of its perks at the time:
become dangerous – This weapon fires bullets with lethal accuracy
ruthless stalker – Kills with this weapon increase the resolution of the motion tracker for a short time
not repent – Reloading after a kill results in a longer, more powerful super burst for the next wallet
So I mean, it’s not the most exciting weapon on the planet, but it has its fans, and it also has a very high base drop accuracy of 29. While Travelers’ Choice has 35.
The Destiny 2 doesn’t have a ton of exotic sidearms, so the Trespasser (aka arc) fills that void. We only have Traveler’s Chosen, Devil’s Ruin, Rat King and Cryosthesia 77K. Forerunner is also a special one, but that doesn’t really matter. Really, none of these have lived through an era of being overpowered in any meaningful capacity, even as a sidearm buff I usually don’t use my exotic slots for any of these and rely on the legendaries I’ve collected side arm.
How will Trespasser show up in Destiny next season? Random drop? new task? The official lore for this gun is that it’s a Shiro-4 sidearm, but I’d be surprised if we actually see him back. I suspect this will be the Exotic season pass, since those are always new, not Destiny 1’s Revenge. We still have dozens of Destiny 1 exotics that haven’t made it into the game yet, but we’re starting to run short on most of the main iconic items. Icebreaker, Necrochasm, and Touch of Malice might be big games that haven’t returned yet, but if guesses are right and King’s Fall returns this year, we’ll definitely get one of them.
So yes, getting Mechaneer’s Tricksleeves ready for next season, Trespasser is on its way.
