It’s hard to talk about a dramatic turn in events when Meta proves that possibility is very real by announcing a price hike for its Quest 2. But it’s still something new for Sony: The price hike for its latest console, the PlayStation 5, is 50 euros off in Europe and many other regions, including Japan. A decision that can be explained in the current context, somewhere between an inflationary crisis and atypical exchange rate volatility. But in reality, isn’t this the logical conclusion of an internal policy of constant pursuit of profit optimization?
