The codename for Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch, the Galaxy Watch 5, has emerged, seemingly confirming a dramatic change to the company’s 2022 smartwatch lineup. These codenames again suggest a Galaxy Watch 5 “Pro” model is in the works, as we did previously in our exclusive report, but the final moniker may vary.
Our colleagues are Galaxy Club Yes “Heart-S” “heart-L”, and “Cardiac specialty.”
The Heart-S codename presumably relates to the most compact version of the 2022 smartwatch variant (40-42mm).it is associated with the model “SM-R90x.”
With that in mind, the Heart-L codename should correspond to the larger Galaxy Watch 5 model (44mm or 46mm).The latter is associated with the model “SM-R91x.”
Finally, our colleagues told us that the Heart-Pro codename corresponds to the model “SM-R92x.” However, it remains to be seen whether this variant will be called the “Galaxy Watch 5 Pro”. It’s likely to be named “Galaxy Watch 5 Ultra,” but in any case, it will reportedly only be available in one size.
Even the smallest Galaxy Watch 5 “Heart-S” has a bigger battery
Before this new information came out, we exclusively reported that the alleged Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has a monster battery. But interestingly, even the smaller “Heart-S” Galaxy Watch 5 variant will benefit from a larger battery compared to this year’s model.
The battery has a model number “EB-BR900ABY” and was found in korean security (See image below) All the way back to March. With some math, it was determined that this battery has a rated capacity of 276mAh. By comparison, the 40mm Galaxy Watch 4 packs a 247mAh battery.
