Faster, more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus
A reliable leaker recently confirmed that Samsung’s next-generation foldable smartphone in 2022 will feature Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship processor. Despite the unofficial status of the SoC, the identity of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus codenamed SM8475 has been confirmed.
According to multiple sources, the SD 8 Gen 1 Plus will use TSMC’s 4nm process node. Additionally, performance is said to be 10% faster than the standard SD 8 Gen 1 on the OnePlus 10 Pro, while improving power efficiency. In short, Qualcomm designed the chipset with more stable thermal performance.
Aside from avoiding the thermal failures of the current Exynos 2200 and SD 8G1 processors, the South Korean company opted for the newer Qualcomm chipset for several reasons. The main thing is not to see the Exynos flagship SoC arriving later this year, leaving Samsung to choose Qualcomm or MediaTek.
Regarding the latter, it is not clear that Samsung is using MediaTek processors on its flagship devices, especially on the Fold series. But that could still change, as more and more media point out that the Galaxy S23 series or one of its variants could officially get a Dimensity SoC next year.

New colors for Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4
Samsung is also expected to launch a new colorway for its fourth-generation foldable device. So, in addition to the light purple and grey of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, we will also get gold and light blue versions.
On the other hand, Samsung is reportedly dropping the Phantom Green option on the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Instead, manufacturers will opt for black, grey and beige variants. Unfortunately, experts don’t expect any major design changes from the two unannounced Galaxy foldable devices.
