Oft-cited in games that have made a big push for the emergence of indie games, Hotline Miami is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, a period that never really saw its massive influence go away.All you have to do is steam to achieve it.
To celebrate this long career, Devolver Digital, Dennaton Games and lace record Teamed up to release a vinyl box set: Hotline Miami 1 & 2: The Complete Series. As the name suggests, it contains the soundtracks of two works (76 tracks), created by a group of very talented artists; from Sun Araw to M|O|O|N, from Perturbator to Jasper Byrne, via Scattle or Eirik Suhrke etc. Wait. Sounds as good as they say, so multiple versions will be available. First up is the Standard Edition, price unknown, available from all classic retailers, which will include black vinyl, a cardboard sleeve in the colors of the range.
Then there’s the limited edition, only accessible through the merchant websites of Devolver and Laced Records, which play color-changing cards around magnificent illustrations by El Huervo and IZMA. In the first case you will be entitled to red and yellow discs, while in the second they will be turquoise. Both come with two 30cm long prints showing artwork on both sides of the jacket. On the other hand, the ticket remains the same regardless of the shade: £150 (about €172).
