The Microsoft Edge browser improves with the company’s frequent updates. In the latest Edge Canary release, the company has introduced some new features that can be enabled or disabled for a better user experience.
One such feature is the ability to disable the picture-in-picture mode control button that appears on top of the browser’s video frame. If you’re one of those users who don’t use this picture-in-picture mode, the button can be annoying and distracting. Thankfully, the company now offers the ability to easily hide the button on the Edge browser.
In this step-by-step guide, we’ll show you how to quickly and easily hide the Picture-in-Picture mode controls from video frames in the Microsft Edge browser on your computer.
How to Disable the Picture-in-Picture Button in Microsoft Edge
step 1: Open the Microsoft Edge web browser on your computer.
Step 2: When the Edge browser is open, click the hamburger icon in the upper right corner to open the application’s application menu.
Step 3: Select the “Settings” option from the application menu drop-down list.
Step 4: On the Settings page, click the “Cookies & Site Permissions” option in the left sidebar.
Step 5: After that, select the “PiP Controls” option and turn off the toggle for the “Show PiP Controls Within Video Frames” option.
That’s it. After following this step-by-step guide and making changes to settings, the Microsoft Edge web browser on your computer will no longer display picture-in-picture control buttons on video frames.
Note that although the feature is available in the Canary release, the company is rolling it out in stages. This means that this feature is currently only available to some users, and access to more users will be rolled out in batches.
