Overwatch 2The PvP beta begins on Tuesday, April 26th. It’s a closed beta, which means players can only get in by invitation, and they’ve been signing up for access since March 10. If you haven’t already, Blizzard is still accepting requests by the way, yours is still there.
Beta testing is the first phase of a multi-step launch of Blizzard Entertainment’s 2016 sequel to the hero shooter. Blizzard announced last month that it was “decoupling” the game’s PvP and first-ever PvE modes to allow the game to appear on players’ screens faster.
although Overwatch 2announced at BlizzCon 2019 with still no release date or window, and parent company Activision told investors back in November that the game’s release was later than expected.
Regardless, Tuesday will be many people’s first taste of the long-awaited sequel. Here’s what to expect:
when will it be Overwatch 2 beta emails out?
The FAQ, published Monday afternoon, said the beta emails will be sent starting Tuesday at 11 a.m. PDT. “While initially selected players should all have access on day one, we may be extending invitations to more players later in this beta,” Blizzard said.
Appearing on Twitch content creator Flats’ stream on Thursday, Overwatch community manager Andy Belford told fans that Blizzard will also be sending out invites gradually.
Can I still sign up for beta invites?
As of Monday afternoon, the beta page on the official Overwatch website was still accepting opt-in requests, so why not? You need a Battle.net account.
In an FAQ posted Thursday, Blizzard said it would select beta testers “based on a number of factors,” including “when to sign up.” So even though this is called an opt-in, there is no guarantee that the request will be approved, even now.
If you’re reading this and you didn’t opt-in to the deadline, or didn’t receive an invite, Blizzard will be giving out access along with several select streamers through the Twitch Drops promotion during the beta period starting April 27th at 1:00 a.m. PST 10 O’Clock. “After watching any participating channel for four hours, you will be eligible for a Twitch drop.” The FAQ lists all streamers participating in the promotion.

How will I access the beta version?
The first closed beta is a Windows PC-only beta, and players need to own a copy Overwatch Participate on PC.they will visit Overwatch 2 Via Battle.net’s beta client – it reports PC specs to Blizzard. PC specs are one area Blizzard evaluates when sending out invites.
How long will the beta run for?
Blizzard says the beta will run from April 26 at 11 a.m. PDT (2 p.m. ET) through May 17, with times and dates subject to change. Additionally, players can stream their gameplay.
What will players see in the Overwatch 2 beta?

A new playlist “Push” will also appear in the beta. Push takes place on a symmetrical map (Toronto and Rome in this case) and features a robot in the center where the player will push towards the enemy base. The team that pushes the robot the farthest at the end of the game wins.
Overwatch 2The public beta of the 5v5 will also showcase how the 5v5 game will look and play. The original game involved only two teams of six.
