When you’re in the honeymoon phase of a relationship, each day begins and ends with a snuggle in bed.
But once you get past this stage, That is That’s when the battle for passive-aggressive duvets and more space in the bed really begins.
So, with that in mind, we can totally understand why mum Luana Riberia refuses to sleep next to her partner of six years.
Writing for Insider, the 40-year-old from Anglesey, North Wales, explains how her “golden moment of creativity” often comes at 2am, when she’s doing her best work for her PR business.
As a result, it makes more sense for the two to decide to sleep in separate rooms early in their relationship.
She wrote: “In my previous relationships, when I said I wanted my own space, it wasn’t well received.
“Hearing that Alex wasn’t offended, and that he wanted his own space, was music to my ears.”
Not only does this arrangement help Luana’s work, but she recommends separate bedrooms to all couples.
“We almost always have a good rest. It seems simple, but I know from experience and friends that it’s not always the case when sharing bedrooms,” she added. “Tiredness can cause you to be short-tempered and impatient with your partner.”
What’s more, the mum said the arrangement made her “really excited” to see Alex every morning.

Of course, the couple weren’t sure their arrangements would work when they welcomed their child, Celyn.
But if anything, it’s to their advantage to sleep separately.
Most nights, the parents would put their son together and Luana would be “on call” if Celine moved.
Since Alex had slept through the night, the mum said he was happy to be up early in the morning with his son.
Last year, Luana revealed that Alex was actually her ex-husband’s best friend.

“It feels so good to be with Al, and it’s not weird at all when we get together,” Luana said.
“James and I were completely separated by then, so Al called him to see if he was okay with it, and he was totally fine.
“My relationship with Al has evolved into more than just friendship, and for James and me it’s the opposite, we’ve become friends naturally.”
