The new iPad Pro is equipped with Apple’s SoC M2, the same octa-core chip found in the brand’s high-end MacBooks. iPad Pro M2: Improved connectivity, but still the same design
In addition to the optional 5G/4G LTE on cellular models, Apple’s 2022 iPad Pro also has a faster 6E Wi-Fi connection. With this new Wifi standard, download speeds are twice as fast as regular Wifi 6, which equates to 2.4 Gbps. As for the battery, in both models, it should last 10 hours on Wifi.
The design has not changed. The tablet still features a 12.9-inch mini-LED display with HDR peak brightness of 1600 nits on the 12.9-inch model and 600 nits on the 11-inch version. Audio-wise, the four speakers are Dolby Atmos certified and paired with five microphones.

According to Apple, the new iPad Pro can record video directly in the ProRes codec or cinema quality, despite having the same dual 12MP camera module on the back. Unlike the iPad 10, which repositioned the selfie camera, Apple kept the 12 MP ultra-wide camera on the top edge in portrait position. Smart HDR 4 photography is now supported.

Along with the new iPad, Apple has enabled the Pencil 2’s hover function on iPadOS 16, with a sensing distance of up to 12mm. Unsurprisingly, this feature is already present on Samsung Galaxy tablets and smartphones. It will also support official and third-party drawing apps. What’s more, Apple promises faster handwriting conversion.
