While Apple hasn’t raised the price of its iPhone 14 lineup, replacing any model’s battery will be significantly more expensive than before. While you’ll have to pay 75 euros to replace the iPhone 13’s battery, for the iPhone 14, the price goes up to 119 euros if you don’t have AppleCare+ insurance.
- Apple soars price of iPhone 14 battery replacement
- Repairing the battery of any iPhone 14 model now costs 119 euros
- This amount will apply if you do not subscribe to AppleCare+ and are not covered under warranty
If you plan to keep your expensive iPhone 14 (Plus) or iPhone 14 Pro (Max) for more than a year, you should be informed that it will be more expensive to repair a dead battery outside of the AppleCare+ or standard warranty. Replacing the battery will cost 119 euros, a 58% increase compared to the iPhone 13.
Aside from rare manufacturing defects, iPhone battery life degrades after a year of normal use. However, Apple will not repair your device if its capacity drops below 80% or after 400-500 full charges. Presumably, this measure will affect iPhone 14 models with the lowest battery life due to more charge cycles.
Larger battery for iPhone 14 Plus and 14 Pro Max
Due to the larger screens, the iPhone 14 Plus and 14 Pro Max have larger batteries at 4325 mAh and 4323 mAh, respectively. The standard iPhone 14 has a 3279 mAh battery, while the iPhone 14 Pro has a 3200 mAh battery. The iPhone 14 Pro has the smallest battery, but it has a new, more efficient A16 Bionic SoC to make up for the Always-On-Display mode on the iPhone 14 Pro Max.
AppleCare+ warranty includes battery replacement. The iPhone 14 plan costs €8.99 per month and the iPhone 14 Plus costs €10.99. Meanwhile, the two Pro models are priced at 12.49 euros. Owning an iPhone or Apple Watch can end up costing an arm and a leg, regardless of whether you opt for Apple’s in-house insurance.
