According to the latest rumors, Xiaomi is preparing to launch its new smartband Mi Band 7 soon. The successor to the Mi Band 6 and rival to the recently launched Huawei Band 7 is said to come with a more powerful battery and other notable changes.
- Xiaomi may launch Band 7 on May 10
- Mi Band 7 can be equipped with twice the battery of Mi Band 6
- Also announced with built-in GPS and larger screen
Xiaomi Mi Band 7 will be equipped with large-capacity battery and built-in GPS
As for the specifications of the upcoming Mi Band 7, it is already reported that the next-generation tracker will be equipped with a 250mAh battery, which is double the 125mAh capacity of last year’s Band 6. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean twice the battery life.
Another reason for the Chinese brand to extend the charging capability of the Mi Band 7 is to compensate for the power supply from the integrated GPS sensor. The Mi Watch S1 connected watch launched with the Mi 12 is already equipped with GPS. If this rumor is true, then this is the first time that Xiaomi Mi Band offers this feature.
The next fitness tracker will also feature a slightly larger screen with a resolution of 192 x 490 pixels. By comparison, the Mi Band 6 we tested last year has a 1.56-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 152 x 486 pixels. ON can expect Xiaomi to choose a larger screen-to-body ratio on the new model.

The always-on display function of Xiaomi Mi Band 7
Additionally, Xiaomi is also said to have added new digital and analog watch faces. Select watch faces will support the always-on display feature, which was not available on previous models. Lastly, a new battery saver mode also helps users make the most of battery life while engaging in physical activity.
According to a leaker on Weibo, the launch is scheduled for May 10.
