Microsoft has been trying to get more people to use Edge. Some of the ways it pursues this goal are less popular than others, but its recent efforts may provide a useful addition to the software.in the found support page edgethe company revealed that it is adding a free built-in VPN service called Edge Secure Network to its web browser.
The company says the tool will encrypt your internet connection. You can use this feature to protect your data from your internet service provider. As with most VPNs, you can also use an edge security network to mask your location, giving you access to services that may be blocked in the country you live or visit.
If you find yourself traveling a lot, the Edge Secure Network probably won’t replace a paid VPN. The feature limits your data usage to 1GB per month. It’s also worth noting that you need a Microsoft account to use the service. Microsoft has yet to start testing VPNs. But once the feature is available, you can enable it via Edge’s three-dot icon. A new option called “Secure Network” will turn on the VPN. When you are done browsing, it will automatically close again.
