Microsoft will finally launch its new Xbox TV app in June. The app will allow you to play video games on your connected TV via the cloud without having to buy a specific console or TV key. It will be compatible with some of Samsung’s connected TVs and monitors in 27 countries, including France.
- The app will enable cloud gaming for compatible connected monitors and TVs
- The Xbox TV app will be available for Samsung TVs from June 30, 2022
Microsoft’s Xbox TV app, how does it work?
Cloud gaming is first available on select Android smartphones and tablets, and will eventually be available on larger-screen devices as well. The Xbox TV app will provide a list of games users can access through an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Microsoft claims to have over 100 playable games, including Forza, Sea of Thieves and the Halo series.
Game streaming will be limited to 1080p resolution and 60 FPS, and games will run on custom Xbox Series X hardware, according to the company. The company hasn’t revealed when 4K streaming will be available, but there will be support for a variety of gamepads, which will connect via Bluetooth even with Sony’s DualSense.
