More than five years after The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild launched, glitches keep popping up. The latest news comes from the YouTube channel Gaming Reinvented, a frequent visitor to bug finds.
Do you know the metal treasure chests hidden around Hyrule? Those that often contain rare clothing or key items? Yes, you can break them! To do this, however, you’ll need to take advantage of the cannons scattered around the city of Goron and Mount Death in the Erding area. Just load the bomb into the cannon, unleash the Magnesis Rune’s ability to move the chest into place, and BOOM! Fire the cannon at the chest and it will shatter into pieces, revealing what’s inside.
Sounds like a neat but cumbersome way to access the many clothing items in the game, right? Well, not quite. It turns out that rare items found only through treasure chests are not meant to exist in the game world itself, so they are not governed by the same physics engine as everything else. As a result, any items found in it will just float at the exact location where the chest exploded; you can’t move it or interact with it in any way.
So, like many of Breath of the Wild’s glitches, this exploit doesn’t seem to yield any clear advantage, but it’s still possible, which is cool. At least it doesn’t cause you to die almost instantly, like this one!
Let us know in the comments if you try this particular glitch, and if you find any other neat little Easter eggs!
