If the Suikoden saga has taken hold somewhere in your heartbeat, then you must have heard of Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, a spiritual sequel enthusiastically worked on by Rabbit & Bear studios by tandem Yoshitaka Murayama and Junko Kawano led. When they were both Konami employees, their divine union worked wonders, and Suikoden fans clearly had high hopes for their reunion. But we’re still a long way from finally getting a taste of the fruits of their labor, and it won’t be until sometime next year that the Hundred Heroes will appear. Meanwhile, Rabbits & Bear have commissioned Natsume Atari Studios to produce Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising, a small action RPG designed to familiarize us with the universe and some of the characters from this new license. In short, it’s a humble prelude that, if it doesn’t lack charm, never goes beyond the somewhat gruff boundaries of its intent.
