The iPad 10 (2022) was officially announced yesterday alongside the new iPad Pro M2. With a fresh design and an all-new SoC, the tenth-generation iPad brings powerful new features, even as its transition to USB-C complicates use with the Apple Pencil.
- iPad 10 with A14 Bionic SoC and 5G compatibility
- To use the Apple Pencil you need a 10 euro adapter
Design-wise, the iPad 10 (2022) is a remake of the iPad Air 5. The LCD screen is now larger, measuring 10.9 inches diagonally, with a resolution of 2360 x 1640 pixels. Maximum brightness is 500 nits. Unfortunately, the display still only supports the first-generation Apple Pencil. USB-C has finally replaced the Lightning port and headphone jack. Apple also relocated the fingerprint scanner and removed the home button, allowing for thinner bezels.
iPad 10 (2022): The first iPad with a landscape selfie camera
The 10th generation iPad is Apple’s first tablet with a landscape mode selfie camera. The 12 MP front camera should provide a better FaceTime experience when the iPad is in landscape mode. There’s a 12 MP lens on the back capable of shooting 4K at 30 fps.
The new iPad 10 is equipped with a six-core A14 Bionic SoC. It’s now 5G-compatible with the cellular version and offers 64 or 256 GB of storage.
