Chinese connected home brand Meross has updated its famous Apple HomeKit-certified WiFi-connected light bulbs. The new Meross Smart WiFi Bulb Pro features Apple Adaptive Lighting, similar to Philips Hue and Nano Essential bulbs. The feature, which automatically adjusts color and temperature, is expected to arrive via a firmware update later this year.

In addition to the adaptive lighting feature, the Pro model of the Meross bulb is brighter, at 900 lumens instead of the Pro model’s 810 lumens. In addition, the company has doubled the number of LEDs inside the bulb, which not only makes the bulb brighter, but also more vivid in color.

Now use a separate antenna indoors. Meross claims this makes the connection between the bulb and router more stable. You’ll be able to remotely control connected bulbs without a home hub via the Meross mobile app or the Apple Home app. Other features are also available, including smart scheduling and timers.
Like standard smart bulbs, the Pro version is compatible with major assistants like Alexa, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings. Voice control and automation are supported by dedicated connectivity hubs or speakers such as the Amazon Echo.

The Meross Smart WiFi Bulb Pro is already available for pre-order in the US and Canada, with shipping expected on July 10. It’s unclear if the connected bulbs will be available in Europe and elsewhere.
On the other hand, Nanoleaf’s Essential A19 bulbs and strips also support both Apple HomeKit and adaptive lighting.
