Samsung may not be scrambling to design its next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S23. But a leaker gave us an important revelation about the visual details oh how important. What comes next (won’t) surprise you.
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra may have the same design as its predecessor
- The device will have slightly flatter sides, though.
- Samsung expected to release Galaxy S23 early next year
The ever-reliable leaker shares two announcements about the upcoming Ultra variant Ice Universe on Twitter. The first is that it confirms that the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s rear panel will remain the same as the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s flat, symmetrical design.
This means we get the same photo pod arrangement on top of the curved glass on the back and front. However, there is no mention of how the 200 MP sensor will be positioned if Samsung intends to equip its flagship with such a large lens.

The source also added that Samsung’s rounded edges could be changed slightly with a flatter slope. This iteration is most noticeable from the top or bottom and when gripping the device. Although the overall thickness and dimensions may vary on actual devices, the differences have been described in the graphic presentation.

Aside from the design details, some major details of the Galaxy S23 Ultra have been revealed. In addition to the massive 200MP sensor for the Ultra, the entire Galaxy S23 lineup is also expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, eliminating the option of an Exynos chipset.
What do you think of the media earthquake caused by this leak? Did Samsung take too much risk by changing its design language in such a brutal way?
