Google just announced new features for Android 12. Gboard, accessibility, and in-app purchases through Play Points are now deployed on all smartphones running Android 12. Some of its features are only available on the Google Pixel.
- Custom stickers and new emoji for Gboard
- New accessibility features for people with hearing and vision impairments
- Ability to use your Play Credits for in-app purchases
New emojis you can combine
Google is now offering all US Gboard users the ability to create custom stickers from text. Google Emoji has been updated for the current LGBTQIA+ Pride month, and the emoji combo feature is available to everyone.
Emojis can also be combined to create new emojis. More than 1600 new combinations are now available, and new emojis are allowed to be created. For example, you can create an emoji that combines a football and a watermelon. Why we don’t know…but it’s possible.
new accessibility features
Loudspeaker for the Hearing Impaired
The Android 12 accessibility update allows hearing-impaired people to amplify sound and suppress ambient noise through a new interface. The sound recorded by the smartphone is filtered and can be modulated for the benefit of the hearing impaired.
Beware of the visually impaired
Lookout – An update to the Assistive Vision app will improve the lives of the visually impaired. Application users can import images into it from third-party applications and request a description of them.
Lookout then describes the image based on Google’s new machine learning model. Text, documents, food labels and explore mode have also been updated, and the app can also be used offline.
In-app purchases with Play credits
Loyalty points from the Google Play Store can now be used for in-app purchases within the app itself. These points are generated through purchases in the Play Store. 1 Euro spent on the platform is equivalent to a little over.
Only after a series of operations, Android users usually don’t know it can be used. Most importantly, you must use them on the Play Store, not from within the app. Google simplifies the process.
