Like every weekend, we meet at kwgeek as I pick 5 free or paid mobile apps and games that caught my eye on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
Every week I try to bring you the best apps that aren’t personal data traps or microtransaction dens. For my own discoveries, I’ve also added applications that the kwgeek community unearthed and shared on our forums, which I invite you to check out.
From mobile games to productivity apps, here are 5 free and paid Android/iOS apps from kwgeek this week. We post this pick every week, and you can also check out my 5 apps from last week.

Proton Calendar (Android)
Been to Proton Mail? A beta version of this application is available for clients that encrypt your email end-to-end and keep its servers in Switzerland to evade most intrusions or outside interference. You must have a Protonmail account to access the Proton Calendar beta.
The app provides most of the functionality you need for journaling, including creating and editing events and reminders, widgets, recurring tasks and events, all end-to-end encryption and zero access (e.g. for recipients and participation in your events) By) ).
The app is obviously ad-free, but if you want to unlock more features, such as creating and managing multiple calendars, you can expect in-app purchases.

Day (iOS)
This productivity app has probably the most beautiful interface I’ve ever tried. The calendar feed is very ergonomic and the interaction within the app is intuitive. Visually, I really like that everything is accessible and easy to understand. People had an empty vision of his plans for the day, and suddenly it became easier to understand.
I also like the fact that we can quickly filter events based on selected calendars, personal/work/etc. The interface is also customizable, and frankly, I know I’ve said it many times before, but how beautiful it is visually. The app is paid and does not contain ads or in-app purchases.
- Price: EUR 0.99 / Ads: No / In-App Purchases: No / Account: Required / French: No

Pay attention to it (iOS)
Another Notes app, yes. But I love Note-It because the app lets you improve your grades a lot. From the app’s home screen, you can quickly add links, text or images. It’s intuitive and fast.
You can then add elements to your note to make it more visually “impact” (I know the word doesn’t exist). When adding a link, you can display a preview and format it (for example, display an image of the article’s first page). You can also quickly edit an image (for example, crop it) before adding it.
In short, these notes look more fun and the process is very easy to learn. The app is free and contains no ads, but unfortunately the free version is limited to 5 notes. As part of the introductory offer, you can currently buy the full version for €6.99 (one-time purchase), then the regular price drops to €9.99.

Merge Metronome (Android)
It doesn’t escape you that I’m not a great athlete, much less a runner. But according to the app’s developers, running to the rhythm of a metronome can be beneficial. The idea is to maintain a certain pace and optimize energy expenditure and stamina by controlling the number of steps per minute you perform.
But running it in the context of “tic tac tic tac”, 5 minutes is fine. That’s why Merge Metronome allows you to sync the sound of the metronome to your chosen rate and music. Don’t expect to use Spotify or any other streaming music service, everything is done locally. But the app supports most MP3, M4A, AAC, OGA, FLAC, WAV, PCM and AIFF audio files. The app is free with no ads or in-app purchases.

Grammar Limited (Android and iOS)
This game is for all those whose main mission in life is to let anyone who will listen know that they have a better grasp of French than you. Do you salivate at the thought of my spelling mistake? This mobile game is for you.
In Grammarian Ltd, you play as a young mathematician in 2099 who stumbles upon the fantastic career of spell checking. Because yes, in the future, any form of communication will have to use impeccable spelling, and those who violate these rules will be subject to social, economic and even criminal sanctions.
It’s kind of like a collaborative/grammatical Nazi simulator, but in a cartoon colorful universe with a cyberpunk twist. The game costs 6.49 euros, but between us, proving to a stranger that you know more than he does with A plus B is invaluable. Also, it makes your English learning pedantic in 2 languages (I’m 3 languages personally and enjoy every moment).
