Google said a year ago that Assistant would provide advice on changing stolen passwords, and now the company is serious about delivering on that promise. android police Note that Assistant warnings are now rolling out more widely to Chrome users, including Android users. Sign in to a website with a compromised password, and you’ll get the familiar “change password” reminder, and on some sites, there’s an option to have the Google Assistant make the change automatically. You can control it at any time, but it’s helpful if you don’t want to spend time designing secure alternative logins.
The assistant uses AI from Duplex, Google’s web version, to navigate websites and apply password changes. It knows how to click, scroll, and fill out forms that often require human intervention.
This feature is currently not available for every website. However, the Assistant password tool has only been available to a relatively small user base since its launch at Google I/O last May. Extended access still represents a major improvement, and it can be very useful if you’ve ever been the victim of a data breach that exposed your login details.
