The NPD results, which cover game sales in the U.S. as well as many other figures, are now coming out in March. Nintendo released or released two notable games last month with mixed results.
Although the full public data won’t be released until April 26, the authors of Axios Stephen Totillo Shared charts for non-mobile games based on dollar sales (including Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and of course, Switch). Nintendo doesn’t share its eShop data for nothing, so these download sales don’t contribute.
There’s a lot to savour on the US non-mobile gaming charts for March 2022.

Even taking into account the disadvantage that download sales are not counted in this chart, this Kirby and the Forgotten Land in the third. It had strong word of mouth and positive reviews at launch, which obviously translated into strong sales in an important market. Pokémon Legends: Arceus and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe also did well in the top 10.
It’s also worth noting that Kirby is also No. 7 on the Year-to-Date chart.

Going back to the March results, Triangle Strategy dropped to No. 16 when it debuted (based purely on boxed copy sales). While it doesn’t quite light up the charts, it’s a relatively niche genre, and globally, it did around 800,000 sales in its first two weeks.
So there you have it, some solid results for the Switch title. As always, let us know what you think in the comments!
