Furyu will open pre-orders for Sakura Kinomoto 1/4 scale figure Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card Hen On April 30, 2022.The number is for the 25th anniversary Cardcaptor Sakura. Since the kimonos are hand-clothed, Furyu will only produce as many as pre-ordered. [Thanks, Hobby Dengeki!]
The theme of this image is based on the cover of the May 2020 issue Zhongji. Zhongji It is a monthly shojo manga magazine. Yoshitoku, a store specializing in hina dolls and gogatsu figures, designed the kimono in collaboration with Furyu’s hobby merchandise brand F:NEX. Hina dolls and gogatsu dolls are traditional dolls for Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day, respectively.
The back of the belt has cherry blossoms and gold leaf in the embroidery. According to the article, the gold leaf and sash decorations are meant to create a celebratory feel. As mentioned, this number is in honor of the series’ 25th anniversary. Sakura also holds a cherry blossom. The cherry blossoms on the belt use the “tsumami zaiku” technique, in which the artist repeatedly pinches the material to create flower-like shapes.
The Japanese doll Sakura Kinomoto figure from Furyu and Yoshitoku is open for pre-order until July 13, 2022. The price is 168,300 yen, or about $1285.15. On-demand production, shipping in February 2023. F:NEX does not ship overseas.
