vivo just unveiled its new flagship X80 Pro designed by Zeiss, and it’s all about photos and videos. In addition to the advanced tech sheet, the smartphone also has some features that allow you to record video like you are in a movie theater. kwgeek tells you everything about the Vivo X80 Pro.
- Vivo X80 Pro features gimbal camera and video portrait mode
- The smartphone will be available in July for 1299 euros
- This camera is a professional camera produced by Zeiss
Vivo and Zeiss always remind me of a young couple who, driven by their wings, have a lot of energy to spare and want to shout out their love to the world. In fact, the two companies release a new smartphone almost every six months. After the X70 Pro was not released in France, vivo launched the X80 Pro on June 15.
Vivo meets most of the requirements for a high-end Android smartphone in 2022. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 12 GB RAM, 256 GB internal storage, large 4,700 mAh battery, 80 W fast charging and a modern fingerprint sensor with a large reading surface. But as usual, Vivo once again put a special emphasis on the camera.
Vivo bets everything to dominate photo and video
On the back of the Vivo X80 Pro, you’ll find a quad-camera module powered by Samsung’s large Isocell CNG with 50MP resolution. In addition to the main camera, you’ll find a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8 MP x5 zoom lens. However, the 50mm equivalent telephoto lens is a special feature as it received the famous gimbal from Vivo this year.

As you can see in our full Vivo X60 Pro review, it compensates for motion very reliably. Vivo combines this with cinematic video bokeh, according to the spec sheet, developed by Zeiss. This effect automatically blurs the background during video recording, making your video look like a movie made with a professional camera. Apple has implemented this feature well, as the iPhone 13’s movie mode is indeed misleading to a certain extent.
Once we get our hands on the X80 Pro, you’ll experience the ultimate quality of Vivo’s video portrait mode. You can also set aside €1,299 to buy the Vivo X80 Pro yourself when it goes on sale in July. You can also find all other information about the smartphone by consulting our Vivo X80 Pro product page.
