Vivo is still looking to gain a foothold in Europe, and after the successful launch of the X80 Pro, the Chinese brand intends to go further. Thus, the Vivo X90 Pro could be equipped with a new photo module, signed Zeiss, integrating nifty new features such as two telephoto lenses. The brand’s next flagship should also have one of the strengths of Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro.

Vivo X90 Pro: new Zeiss photo module with dual telephoto lens
The Vivo X80 Pro has been designed in collaboration with photography giant Zeiss. However, the success was not there, probably due to the brand’s notoriety and rather high prices at home in the first place. In China, the situation is completely different. Zeiss is seen as an innovative leader in smartphones, with a focus on photography. It is at this point that the Vivo X90 Pro, which is expected to launch in December, intends to rely.

The series will include the base X90 model, X90 Pro and X90 Pro+. The X90 Pro is likely to launch in early 2023 and is expected to be sold at a slightly lower price than its predecessor. Vivo itself has posted some more detailed information along with sample photos on Chinese social network Sina Weibo. Of course, vivo did not give specific details on the data sheet. But the manufacturer announced that the Vivo X80 Pro’s 1/1.3-inch ISOCELL-GNV image sensor has increased the sensitivity by 77%.

This should be supported by the new very efficient V2-ISP chip. But the highlight should be the two telephoto lenses of 64 and 50 MP. One is the OmniVision OV64B and the other is the Sony IMX758. The latter should also shoot portraits in addition to lossless x2 zoom. Finally, a 48 MP ultra-wide-angle lens will complete the quadruple photo module.
Also, like Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro, the Vivo X90 Pro appears to fully support Dolby Vision. Thus, smartphones can offer Dolby Vision from recording to playback of video through editing. The X90 Pro will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
